strength grading
of boards.
We have partnered with Camsensor Technologies, experts in the field of machine vision, who design and manufacture smart cameras and image processing software. We have used their cameras for our automated structural wood grading applications.

- Assesses knots (type, size, position), wane, resin and pith (face and end)

- Can grade both sides of the board by incorporating an automated board turner or alternatively cameras can be mounted underneath

Automated vision systems can:
- be applied to boards, flitches, cants and logs
- assess faces and ends of wood
- assess green or dry wood
- view heartwood and sapwood regions within wood
- view juvenile and mature wood regions within wood
- 3D profile– shape, taper, LED, SED, sweep, nodal swelling, wane
