Weighbridge

Ecoustic(TM) grader
A dynamic weighing system measures the weight of the board as it travels within its lug.
The weighbridge consists of loadcells mounted along each chain strand.
A laser measurement system is used to obtain the boards volume and is combined with the weight to obtain density.

X-ray

X-ray can be used to directly measure wood density.
It is a totally non-contact system and useful for high speed production lines, in applications where space is limited or subject to excessive vibration.
