Easy and accurate span adjustments - Wood requires testing over a span relative to its size and the testing spans can be adjusted quickly with the turn of a few handles and sliding the reaction points to the required settings. Measurement markings mean the reaction points can be set to within 1mm.

Front loading - Test samples can be loaded from in front of the machine which means space either side of the machine is not required for feeding long samples through. This feature is very beneficial when loading large timber beams that can be very heavy.

Quick and repeatable test set up - Locating the deflection measuring device in contact with the test sample is made quick and easy through the device being attached to an arm that swings up into place for performing deflection testing.
STFE™ safety features
- Downwards force application - High force can be required when fracture testing for strength and the downwards force application mitigates dangerous upwards fractures.
- Built in safety fence - A robust safety fence is integrated in the fracture zone.
- Lateral supports - Adjustable lateral supports prevent boards moving and buckling under pressure. This is most pertinent when testing wide narrow boards.

- Can test timber sizes from 65mm x 35mm to 320mm x 125mm at 18 x span
- STFE5 has a 5 tonne loading capacity

- Manual - manual hand pump
- Semi Auto - a manual valve connected to an electric pump with flow and pressure control
- Full Auto - load application fully controlled by PLC, computer and software
- Note: Data logging capability can be added to any option. All options require manual span adjustment and loading of boards
